This painting is about the need to be vigilant in protecting the salmon spawning streams. Most of the streams in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area of B.C. have been lost through human population expansion and poor environmental practices. Much is being done to correct this tragedy. Perhaps the bountiful return of sockeye tells us we've done something right. It is still vital to work to protect this precious resource.
